{The Roaming Table offers an AWESOME food tour of Lewiston, one of the stops was at Orange Cat Coffee and I found this guy inside. Orange Cat is probably my new favorite coffee shop in town, I only wish it was a little closer. See my write up on The Roaming Table in the next couple of days!}

A good crowd came out for the Buffalo Niagara Partnership's Annual Report meeting at Larkinville on Wednesday morning. Larkinville is one of the prettiest places to be in the summer

A behind the scenes tour of the Curtis Hotel was quite fun! The beautiful walls from the original building are stunning. This place is going to be a pretty cool place to go in the Fall

Hey There November!

{Just a Blonde in Buffalo photo}

We are on the 2nd day of November and before you know it we will be hearing the Christmas tunes on the radio {insanely early} and it will be Thanksgiving. This month my focus is mostly on moving into my new home, but with that I have been following some local home décor/furniture shops that I am looking forward to checking out. Below are the few businesses I've been following, along with some other exciting things taking place around town this month that I hope I can try to attend.

Fathers Day Things to Do

fathers day Father's Day is just around the corner and if you're like me, I prefer to spend the day with my Dad doing something he enjoys rather than buying him some gift that he will just put to the side. So, I thought I would compile a list of some things you could do and places you could go with your Dad.

Golf Courses:

  • Diamond Hawk (Cheektowaga)
  • Greenwood (Clarence)
  • Harris Hill (Bowmansville) - I just found out this is not open because they are building condos where the driving range used to be - so disappointing.
  • Delaware Park (Buffalo)

Brunch Spots:

  • Cecelia's
  • Providence Social
  • Trattoria Aroma
  • Elm Street Bakery

Other Activities:

  • Canalside - kayaking, water bikes, boat tours
  • Niagara Falls - Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds
  • Brewery Tours - with Craft Breweries being so popular - go on one of your own brewery tours - Flying Bison, Resurgence, Big Ditch, Rusty Nickel are just a few to check out!

Let's Brunch!

Prov. Social Brunch Since its become such a popular "thing to-do" in town a couple weeks ago I was able to head back to one of my favorite places and check out their brunch, Providence Social. The best thing you can do is make a reservation. I made one for 11am and am so thankful I did. Within 10 minutes of being there, there was a line of people and the place was packed - it isn't a surprise though for $1 Mimosa's I'd be there early too!

I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese omelet and side of mixed fruit - Yum! If you're looking for a new place to brunch make sure to put Providence Social on your place to visit!

A Great Place to Go for Wine Wednesday!

prov social sign pro social

It’s been months of planning to make time to visit Providence Social. Finally a few Wednesday’s ago Nicole and I took advantage of are monthly get-togethers and enjoyed their wine night specials!

The minute I walked in I fell in love with the place I loved the bar area and the old school music from the 50s and 60s era - a place that makes me think of my childhood memories when my parents would make me listen to their oldies music {now a days I catch myself singing to some of that same music, I guess that’s what happens as you get older}. The dim lighting with amazing light fixtures makes for a pretty atmosphere. The dining area is pretty open – leaving you and your party not feeling on top of other people... like you find at some other restaurants in the area.

Wednesdays make for great wine deals! $4 for a glass, $16 for a bottle! You can’t beat that price. For the amount of wine Nicole and I drink when we get together - it was a great deal!

From the outside- it’s not what you would expect when you walk in. The pricing is affordable and offers a good selection of food that can be shared. Now, I'm planning a time to go back and check out their brunch! From what I see on social media it looks like they put together a nice Sunday Funday!
